My family and I are celebrating our 81st year of bringing the joy and beauty of a new dress to girls around the world.
In 1935, my father Max Gerson and his brother founded our family business Gerson & Gerson for the purpose of delighting their daughters and girls everywhere. In 1970, the company began distributing its dresses under the trademark Bonnie Jean.
Over the years, we have maintained the notion that our dresses should make girls feel beautiful, whimsical and above all confident. Growing up, I watched my father devote his time and efforts in maintaining these values.
Bonnie Jean remains a family business today. In 1969 I joined the company and have remained loyal to my father’s philosophy, “Make the best product possible, never sacrifice quality, and maintain affordable prices.” While maintaining the same sense of values has been challenging, it has also been incredibly worthwhile – just the look of sheer delight when my granddaughter tries on a new dress says it all! In July 2015, my daughter, Jessica Gerson joined our company to carry on our values and traditions for the many years to follow.
Thanks to our continued success our extended family continues to grow along with our brands.
The Iris & Ivy and Jessica Ann collections bring the same core values as our Bonnie Jean label by delighting girls everywhere. We are also very pleased to have just launched two additional collections this year – Matt’s Scooter a new line for boy’s wear and Raven and Pearl, a distinctive line specially designed for girl’s concert attire.
The Gerson & Gerson family looks forward to dressing your children for generations to come.
